At D. Rene & Co., our handmade papier-mache bowls are thoughtfully crafted from a unique blend of recycled cardboard and durable utility paper. This pulp mixture allows us to create strong, enduring pieces of functional art while promoting sustainability. We personally collect all our recycled materials—often re-purposing packaging from items shipped directly to our Nevada-based studio.
 
Each bowl begins its journey in our design studio, where the cardboard is processed entirely by hand. The pulp is soaked, prepared, and shaped without molds, ensuring every piece is truly one-of-a-kind. After air-drying under the warm Nevada sun, each bowl is hand-painted and creatively embellished.
 
For this design, a lovely black and white botanical fern print has been meticulously decoupaged onto the surface. The design is then sealed for protection, adding a subtle gloss and enhancing the intricate details. This sealing process not only protects the art but also provides stability and strength.
 
Our bowls are as sturdy as they are stylish, featuring a thick, robust base for stability and visual presence. No two are alike; each carries its own unique character, making it a striking focal point for any space.
